I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a nice looking professional logbook. So if it detects another column name that is the same, it won't allow it, and will automatically call it number 2 or 3 etc. According to Excel logic, each column title must be unique. The customer service and the finished product is great. If you have been customising the column names, you may find that Excel automatically adds a '2' or other number to the end of your column title. I needed some additional help to print new pages and she was quick to pick up her phone to assist me, even after normal business hours. I received my logbook today and it looks better than I thought it would. I made a phone call and Trish took the time to explain to me the options the cost etc, she also cared to know when I needed it by, because if I needed it the next day it would have been on its way that quick! The same night I ordered my product (personalized logbook, with full print service) I received an email with photos for my review and it was already ready to ship out! As I was out of town she emailed me again to find out when I would like for her to ship it to arrive at the right time, that’s some great customer service. Once you have entered your Night flying manually in the Logbook, the Dashboard will indeed calculate the TOTAL Night flight time from all of your flights - as the Dashboard does with every other category/type of flying.I was looking for a nice print out version of my electronic logbook. You'll need to enter the amount of Night time you want to log (per flight) manually - as you would do with any other type of hours (Cross Country, Multi-Engine etc). Neither of these downfalls are good for performance & usability.
However, it is very resource-heavy and results in a much larger file size (because the file has to store every single airport latitude/longitude data). Of course, it is possible to formulate an algorithm to do this, based off your on/ff blocks times to/from different airport locations around the world. Excel Pilot Logbook WILL calculate the Total Time to be 4 hours but it will not calculate the Night portion to be 2 hours. Ive watched friends spend countless hours trying to get Microsoft Excel to summarize their flight hours both with and without the conversion factor.
To elaborate, it will not calculate the Night PORTION of a flight between, for example, 16:00 and 20:00 when sunset is at 18:00.
Unfortunately, our Excel Pilot Logbook spreadsheet does not automatically calculate the Night PORTION of your flights (based on your Off Blocks / On Blocks times) - as some other apps can do.
